Panels away!

Finally, have removed all the front panels, surprised that there is no structural rust at all, just here and there a few patches around the cracks in the tar, just a little bit of converting rust off primer paint and some tar. A great and very tempting chance at looking at those front end springs...

Looks kind of cool with white walls less the panels. Won't be driving it that way though.

So a few things have happened that I haven't posted online.

I have acquired new panels from the east. 8 doors, bonnet, boot, left and right fenders, both rear quarter panels as well as a nose cone. So I am pressing ahead with slowly removing my current "rusted" panels in an effort to make the car a little more presentable.

University is very busy, so I haven't had much time and will attempt to do 1 panel a weekend for the next few weekends. Leaving the 1500 off the road till I am done, hopefully at the end, it will be a new colour and with the panels off I have great access to the springs and front end to fiddle with.

Not easily seen in the photos here, though there is remarkably no rust through the sill, which was very surprising, touch wood that the other side is as good. Have painted with some metal primer over the areas I have attacked. Will be like this until next weekend. Plus a bonnet.

If only I had a Lotus too.
